Vanaprastha Children’s Village

We are in the process of constructing new facilities to set up a “Children’s Village”. We are not able to accommodate all the abandoned children that are brought to us. It is heartbreaking not to take a child due to lack of space. So adjacent to our school, we have planned a Children’s Village. The progress of the construction is documented in the pictures below. First phase of the construction will (hopefully) be over by June 2010. Your contributions are highly appreciated.

Canteen for our School

We are badly in need to build a canteen for our school. Most of our children suffer from malnutrition, because in their families they are not provided a warm meal a day. So adjacent to our school, we would like to set up a canteen which can provide warm and healthy food to our village children. If you can give us a hand in building it, kindly contact us.

Windmills or solar photovoltaic energy for our Children’s Home

We face severe problems with electricity. Often there is a power-cut. And at times, when there is light, we have low voltage. We can hardly depend upon the electricity board. Due to these problems, we cannot pump water from our borewell. Besides, our children are not able to do their homework. Last year, we had to provide seven of our children
with eye glasses. Therefore, we have been thinking of installing a photovoltaic unit (solar energy) or aeolic energy. If you are into this business and can help us with setting it up, we would be most happy.

Vanaprastha Vocational Training Centre

We are planning to set up a Vocational Training Centre (computer science and business administration) to provide opportunities to the village youth and to the students of our school.

This project is still in the conceptual stage and we are looking for partners who can help us.

Vanaprastha Dental Clinic

Adjacent to our Ayurveda Clinic, shortly we plan a Dental Clinic. Around our villages there is no dentist and no dental clinics. Our villages are full of children and old people suffering from dental problems. If you are into this field, you are most welcome to give us a hand.

Vanaprastha Old Age Home

We are about to set up a home for the elderly, especially for the abandoned old women of the villages. Each person has his/her own dignity. It is important to respect and to love our old people. They have worked hard for us, for our society. We do not throw them out even though they are not productive any more. If you want to help us to set up a home for the aged, kindly contact us.
